MUEVE
Tomando como punto de partida su interés por los dispositivos móviles o nómadas, en 2015, Valeria Mata inició un proyecto llamado MUEVE, una plataforma itinerante hecha de madera que buscaba proponer canales alternativos para la circulación de publicaciones independientes mexicanas y latinoamericanas. Esta biblioteca móvil circuló por diferentes ciudades de México y se colocó de forma efímera en distintos lugares, como museos, una pizzería, una antigua fábrica textil, plazas públicas, etcétera.
MUEVE también hospedó a La biblioteca del plagio, un espacio de consulta libre de materiales que abordaban el tema de la copia y el plagio en las artes visuales y la literatura. Los libros que formaron parte de este proyecto efímero fueron materiales que se usaron para hacer posible la publicación de Plagie, copie, manipule, robe, reescriba este libro y se expusieron con la intención de ser una “bibliografía pública” que evidenciara las costuras del libro.
Taking as starting point her interest in mobile or nomadic devices, in 2015, Valeria Mata started a project called MUEVE (move), which was a wooden roving platform that aimed to foster alternative channels for circulating Mexican and Latin American independent publications. This itinerant public library circulated through different cities of Mexico and was ephemerally placed in a wide variety of places: museums, a pizza shop, an old textile factory, public squares, among others.
MUEVE also hosted La biblioteca del plagio (The Plagiarism Library), a free consultation space of materials that addressed the issue of copying and plagiarism in the visual arts and literature. The books that were part of this ephemeral project were materials that were used to make possible the publication of Plagiarize, copy, manipulate, steal, rewrite this book (2018) and were exhibited with the intention of being a "public bibliography" that showed the seams of the book.
